Dear Members of the Boise Idaho Stake,
As the Easter Season approaches, we invite you to heed the First Presidency's invitation and consider how you might build strong, Christ-centered traditions that will strengthen your faith in Jesus Christ and brighten your hope in the literal resurrection made possible by Him.
The focus of this Easter Season is the "greater love" of Christ, a phrase from John 15:13 in the New Testament, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." We encourage you to become familiar with the publications that are being released throughout the easter season by leaders of the church, referenced on this webpage. These resources include a video by President Oaks as well as new web pages with various resources, study tools and activities.
We encourage each family to spend some time considering Christ-centered traditions that will be most meaningful to you.
We love you and hope that this Easter Season will bring greater peace and joy into all of our lives.
Most sincerely,
The Boise Idaho Stake Presidency
President Boettcher, President Hansen, President Watkins
The church has launched a new Easter Initiative called "Greater Love". Please see this website for lots of ideas and resources on how to make Easter more meaningful.
Gospel Art Drive!
Last year a Gospel Art drive was held for the Swahili Branch and it was a great success! Since then, there have been many baptisms and new members. The branch would like to do another Gospel Art drive again this year to be distributed to the branch members on Easter Sunday. If you have any framed Gospel artwork that you are not using or something that can hang on a wall, please consider donating it! Also, if you happen to be in a thrift shop and find suitable artwork, please also consider purchasing it for the drive.
Ward Family History Message
Do you want to do your family history but aren't sure where to start? Are you stuck on a particular line and you're not sure where to look next? The ward family history team is here to help. We can help anyone from the newest of beginners to the most seasoned researchers. Our particular areas of expertise include American, British, Canadian, and French records, but we will help with your research question no matter the time or place involved. Please contact Michael Duplisea or Phyllis Brewton for any and all family history questions you may have. We'll be happy to assist!
Family history tip of the month:
FamilySearch is using AI to transcribe millions of records across the US, Canada, the UK, and elsewhere, so that full documents are now searchable. These records include land records, deeds, wills, lawsuits, and more. This opens up huge opportunities for researchers who need more documentation to answer their questions. It also provides a more detailed look at the lives of your ancestors that you can't get any other way.
It's Building Cleaning time for us in Shadow Hills Ward!
This is a "view only" link. Please text or email Brother Martinie with your choice of dates to serve.
The Boise Family Search Center
Are you using “Memories” in FamilySearch or the “Memories” app on your phone?
If not, stop by the Boise FamilySearch Center and learn how to add photos, stories, and documents to your ancestors profiles so others can learn more about them.
Please contact us at 208-338-3811 or email to boisefamilysearch@gmail.com for answers to your Family History questions. Please see our class schedule online at: https://locations.familysearch.org/en/us/id/boise/1203-s-cole-rd
